The Acoustical Society of America (ASA) is seeking nominations for its 2012 Science Writing Awards in Acoustics, which are intended to recognize excellence in the presentation of acoustics-related topics to a popular audience.
Entries may be newspaper stories, magazine articles, TV or radio broadcasts, books, or websites that were published, broadcast, printed, or posted between 1 January 2011 and 31 December 2012. Separate awards will be given to journalists and professionals in the field of acoustics. Submissions may be made by the author or another party. An independent panel will judge entries according to their general accessibility, relevance to acoustics, accuracy, and quality.
Each award includes a $2,000 cash prize and a $500 stipend to travel to the ASA fall 2013 meeting in San Francisco, CA, 2-6 December 2013, where the awards will be presented.

Six copies of the work being submitted. Audio entries should be on a CD with a printed transcript. If the entry is a website, include a printed copy of the home page,
Name and complete contact information for each nominee, Name and contact information for the publisher, website, or radio program where the work appeared, and Date of original publication or broadcast
