For its 75th Anniversary Meeting, the Acoustical Society of America asked its technical committees to prepare special lay-language papers on general acoustics topics. The submissions can be found here. In presenting these general topics, authors reflect on the past, look towards the future, and explain their subject's overall importance to science and the larger world.
