ASA Invites Media to Acoustics Meeting in Honolulu, Dec. 1-5
In-person sessions and livestreamed press conferences to highlight the latest advancements in the science of sound #ASA_ASJ2025 #ASA189

This scientific conference brings together interdisciplinary groups of acoustics professionals to discuss the latest advancements from a variety of fields, including physics, medicine, music, architecture, animal biology, and engineering. While in Honolulu, experts will present work on topics that include new ultrasonic imaging technologies, the use of sound for pest control, the ideal artificial electric vehicle noise, and the calls of elephant seals. Conference highlights can be found on social media by using the #ASA189 and #ASA_ASJ2025 hashtags.
Reporters are invited to attend in-person sessions at no cost (registration details below).
Media are also encouraged to participate in a series of virtual press conferences, featuring a selection of newsworthy sessions, on Wednesday, Dec. 3, and Thursday, Dec. 4. Times and topics will be announced in the coming weeks. Journalists may pre-register by emailing media@aip.org.

LAY LANGUAGE PAPERS
ASA will also share dozens of lay language papers about topics covered at the conference. Lay language papers are summaries (300-500 words) of presentations written by scientists for a general audience. They will be accompanied by photos, audio, and video.
