Nominations are closed for Science Communication Awards.
The Acoustical Society of America (ASA) offers Science Communication Awards in Acoustics to recognize excellence in the presentation of acoustics related topics to a popular audience. Please take a moment to review past recipients.
From 1995 to 2016, this award was known as the “Science Writing Award,” however, in the 2010s, videos and other multimedia content began to be submitted for consideration and so the Public Relations Committee renamed and restructured the award to recognize that good science communication can happen through many kinds of media. Each entry is judged according to its general accessibility, relevance to acoustics, accuracy, and quality.
The ASA Science Communication Award selection committee considers entries from ASA members and non-members in the form of newspaper and magazine articles, videos, podcasts, books, and websites. Recipients receive a cash award, as well as an invitation to the ASA meeting for award presentation.
The next award cycle will review content created between 2023 and 2024. Follow ASA on social media for award announcements.
